The problem is that over thousands of years religions and religious and terrestrial leaders promoted a wrong image of the 'creative power' and named it with a single word 'GOD'. Wrongly they put their ideas of 'power' into this word and abused it. They placed 'God' outside of the world into another dimension, inaccessible to the single person, except if passing through them, or through praying in blind worship. So when people say they are atheist it is often because they can't deal anymore with this old image. That they cannot believe in this kind of 'God'.

Unfortunately, people don't have so very many words and ideas to define this 'creative intelligence'. This was also the problem of scientists in the last centuries who thought that they could explain everything with hazard, in order not to stay with the old image which was not fitting anymore. In the end, the result was a scientific 'belief' that 'nothing' (hazard) is creating the world. Many people then accepted this 'belief' because of the lack of a better one.

So me too, I always have a problem with this 'God' word as it immediately hints to my childhood beliefs, which in the meantime have changed tremendously. If we use this word with 100 people we can be sure that everybody has it's own image of 'God' in mind, be it positive or negative, depending on what they are expecting or not of this 'God' and what kind of experiences they made.

I think that the NDEs are making us aware that everything that exists, consists of this 'creative intelligent power' that is also consciousness.

Awesome video, Garry !!

Future Thinkers Episode 92: Rupert Sheldrake - Paradigm Shifts in Science and Experiments in Consciousness. March 28, 2019

Rupert Sheldake: At about 54 minutes. '...There are a lot of atheists who meditate now. I mean Sam Harris is an example of a militant atheist who actually meditates. And I suspect that, you know, if he keeps at it, that his views of consciousness will change. They're already beginning, he's already backtracking a bit on hardline materialism. And sort of saying he's looking for other ways of scientific, broader scientific, views. And pan-psychism is probably where they'll go next...'

Sam Harris, Making Sense Podcast, 153 episodes.

Note by Anthony Chipoletti, me :)
This is where I found that consciousness itself has a wonderful sense of humor :) When I placed Rupert's audio into a supposedly inanimate speech to text converter, the converter texted out that militant atheists will probably go next to pan-SARCASM :) Proof of my belief that the eternal, infinite, intangible awareness has a sense of humor !!

Sheldrake continues: '...I think we're in the middle of a very interesting period of transition. Because, precisely because, new school atheists and materialists are actually taking out spiritual practices themselves. Old school atheists and materialists like Richard Dawkins have nothing to do with them...'

Tragedy one: We allowed the political conformists to hijack the word God.

Tragedy two: We abandoned our own power of words and beliefs to group-think.

Tragedy three: We allowed our own diversity of beliefs to be seen as weakness.
