Imagery in NDE

Post by JullietK »

Good morning from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
I’m researching some NDE for my masters in fine arts and in particular looking for imagery or metaphors in NDE.
I’ve been an art therapist working in physical health and taking some time away from my practice to pursue an mfa. I’m hoping the art I produce acts as a memento mori with a focus on the aspects of a life review.
Love to hear your thoughts on this or imagery on any aspects of the experience.

I love the idea of using art to help people process and communicate their near death experiences. Experiencers will often state that there are no words to adequately describe the things that they witness on the other side. Perhaps pictures(or some other medium) would help them to do so.

Thank you for your warm welcomes. As my research and images develops I’ll share here to get some feedback. In the meantime please send anyone my way where our interests may overlap. Warmest regards

That is very interesting! It seems like it would be very hard to capture these experiences, but from what I’ve heard, Alex grey’s paintings have been pretty close, and their is an arts section of the nderf site i believe.

Anytime I read these, it always seems very sensory, perceptual, but intertwined in a way i guess.

I’m not sure what I could say to help but I definitely do think this is a cool concept and project!
