Hi, I had, what I guess you can call, an out of body experience. I've never experienced anything like this. To be honest, it scared me and I'm hoping to learn more about what may have happened to me.
Sometime during the night of 7 March 2025 I was asleep and having normal dreams about being out of my body. These dreams were normal, nothing unusual but I woke up feeling and hearing a vibration. This is the super wierd bit. I felt I could control this vibration. I was laying down on my side in bed with my eyes closed. As the vibration intensified, I heard and felt a snap or crack sound. (No pain) I could then see my room but my eyes were closed. I felt myself lift up and out of my body. There was no pain. I was feeling just fine, perfectly normal but then I got really scared because I was worried I might not be able to get to my body and I thought I might die. I started yelling help and with my intention to do it, I floated back into my body and the vibration became less tense. As I floated down into my body, I found myself in a bit of a panic and I was still yelling help. But of course, this voice was in my head, it wasn't coming from me. I was somewhere inbetween when I was mumbling help from my body, even though I was trying to yell it out loud. I was then back. I tapped the side of my bed and I knew I was back.
I'm 44 years old, I've never had an experience that comes close to this. I have no idea what happened.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Can anyone explain what this experience is and what happened to me?
Very unusual experience. Perhaps an Out of body experience.

Wow. It sounds like an out of Body Experience. Some people seem to be more susceptible to this than others. What were you doing prior to going to bed?

Thank you for replying. I just went to bed as per usual. I finished work that day and I had to wake up early for work the next day. So I was in bed by about 9:30pm - 10pm. Prior to bed, I was just scrolling on my phone. Just the usual stuff. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Can you tell me anything more about the vibrations? This experience is playing on my mind. It felt very real.

Hello LORMCA and welcome to the Forum! It sounds as if you experienced Astral Projection which is quite similar to an OBE. The vibrations are common to AP and occur just before your Astral body pops out of your physical body. I have written several posts describing my own AP experiences. Hope this is helpful to you and nice to have you aboard!

Thank you Diane. Nice to know others have experienced the same thing. How amazing. I'm now left wondering what would have occurred had I continued.

If it happens again, try to go somewhere. Your spirit is attached to your body by a silver cord, and only death can break it. At least that's what I've heard. Write about your experience and post it here!

Thank you, If it happens again, hopefully it wont be as frightening and hopefully I can remain calm to continue on with the experience. I'll definitely post any further experiences if they occur.
