I was six years old at Heaven's Gate

It was the case in 1962 that most kids had to have their tonsils out. The gave me too much sleeping gas is the short story. So I found myself in a long hallway full of wooden doors on either side. I went to the door at the end and opened it to find myself in an old fashioned train station. I was alone. There was a nice old man behind the ticket wicket. He said to sit over there. I sat on a bench. After a while a door opened and I went to it. The light was very bright. The door opened a few inches and then a man held his hand up and said, "Oh. Not yet." The door closed and then I woke up to see my parents beside my hospital bed. That's it. That's all there was. Now it's many years later and I'm hoping I wasn't too bad.

How interesting. It seems that every person's NDE is experienced in a way that is unique to that person.

Welcome Stanley! What a wonderful experience and certainly a lot for a child to process at such a young age. The fact that you remember it in such great detail proves all the more that this was indeed a spiritual experience. Did your heart actually stop as a result of too much anesthesia? Thank you for sharing.

I would also like to add that for me, doorways have always had a great significance in most of my own spiritual experiences.
