Life as we get older

Post by Garry »

As you grow older, your view of life begins to change. Things that once seemed important no longer matter much. You begin to understand that peace, happiness, and love are more valuable than drama, stress, or showing off. Life teaches you that time is short, and every day is a gift.

You don’t want to argue or deal with unnecessary conflict anymore. You stop chasing people who don’t value you. You no longer want to prove yourself to anyone. Instead, you want peace in your heart and calm in your surroundings.

The older you get, the more you appreciate the small things a warm cup of tea, a quiet evening, a loving hug, or laughter with close friends. A cozy home, simple meals, and the company of people who truly care about you become the greatest blessings.

You realize that life isn’t about being rich, popular, or perfect. It’s about being real, kind, and surrounded by love. You choose quality over quantity in relationships, conversations, and even in your dreams.

So, as you grow older, choose peace. Let go of the noise. Be thankful for what you have. Love deeply, live simply, and enjoy the moments that truly matter.

Tuesdays are my most peaceful day. On Tuesday my wife and son are off to school. I am home alone with just the dogs for about 6 to 7 hours. It's a great opportunity to just have a couple cups of coffee and read with the dogs curled up beside me on the couch. I agree that it is so important to appreciate the small, periodic joys that God gives us.
