NDE or something else?
NDE or something else?
A few Octobers ago I had something odd happen to me. I usually go to sleep in a recliner, and one night, as soon as I sat, I saw all bright white everywhere, no floor, walls, or ceiling. Along with that a panic attack, with my heart racing. Along with that, a feeling of being completely alone. Not alone like I usually am, but no-one anywhere. The 'vision' lasted maybe 20 seconds, the panic attack about a minute. I take a low dose of Trazadone to help me get to sleep, but this hasn't happened before or since I've been taking it. Not a pleasant experience.

Doesn't sound like a near death experience. Maybe just a really bad panic attack? I get them too, sometimes. But granted, I never experienced the sensation of everything going white.

Welcome to the Forum, MPC356! It sounds to me as if you had a peek into another realm. Were you awake when this occurred, had you fallen asleep or were you in a state of in-between? I have experienced what I refer to as "Twilight Zone" moments, where I have been wide awake and completely aware, yet it seemed as if suddenly there was no one else around.... Not another person, no birds chirping, no breeze, no movement, just complete silence. It was as if I had been transported to another plane which still looked exactly like my normal surroundings yet everyone else had temporarily disappeared.

It happened as soon as I sat, so it definitely wasn't a dream. After the 'vision' I was awake in the middle of my panic attack. I wanted to get up and walk it off, but I couldn't. After it was over, I just thought 'what just happened' . About a year later, I was with a group who went into a virtual reality game place and a few times between the action, there were a few seconds of whiteness that looked exactly what I experienced.
