Recurrent dream meanings
I am not an academic but I do have a recurrent dream theme in being at university (I lived in Cambridge for a while and had a friend at Fitzwilliam college from the same town). This is I believe because I am always in pursuit of knowledge. Another regular theme is waking up needing to use the toilet and not finding one (in reality it is because at my age I need to urinate)
Re: Recurrent dream meanings
I keep a writing journal that is like a diary. I used to have separate dream journals however I rarely remember my dreams now because of my busy schedule, lots of overthinking during the night. Recently I did have a recurrent dream similar to twenty years ago. I reminded me of the college dreams where I would start late in the semester and feel very unprepared for the upcoming exam due in a few days. Heard a "mind is a terrible thing to waste" in my dream. In my daytime life, I did end up going to graduate school a few years later and the dreams stopped. According to a dream interpretation book, schools represent life lessons and exams that we shouldn’t panic because we know the material already otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten this far. This was during a time of very challenging life transitions having to move several times and I didn't know if my health would hold up. I went on to graduate with a doctorate degree and my health improved immensely beyond doctor's expectations. This showed me that I was on my correct life path. As we all know, the academics we learn in college is often obsolete, it's the life experiences along the way that heals and changes us.
