In order to explain what a Near-Death Experience is, I would like to refer to an article by Dr. Jeff Long, who defines NDEs for the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation research purposes as "A lucid experience associated with perceived consciousness apart from the body occurring at the time of actual or threatened imminent death."
