Why does fear exist?
I've been reading a lot of these NDEs and one the common themes is that we, as humans, have nothing to fear. If that's the case, why does fear exist in the first place?

F-E-A-R: has two meanings:
Forget Everything And Run or Face Everything And Rise.
The choice is yours.

Hello, again, Oxchallenger0xchallenger wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 11:14 pm I've been reading a lot of these NDEs and one the common themes is that we, as humans, have nothing to fear. If that's the case, why does fear exist in the first place?
Based on my own understanding, when we have a physical experience as Incarnate Spirits, whose essence is constantly immersed in Safety, Love and Harmony, fear exists for practical self-protective purposes in order to safeguard us from danger. If you take a look at my signature post “STEs… and Physics”, I have attempted to describe my own personal experience dealing with human disconnection from my Spirit Self, other people and Divine Consciousness. And consequently with fear.
Fear can be a good thing when it helps us to rationally seek safety in this physical world. However, if it becomes overwhelming, it can be crippling and disabling.
In my case this happened when I was 19, and experienced a horrible earthquake during which 3000 people were killed. 40 years have gone by, and I developed several forms of anxiety which have not served me at all. I guess that, at that time, in 1980, I should have sought psychological support, but I was too young.
Luckily I ended up marrying a wonderful psychotherapist who specializes in hypnosis, and I continue to benefit from hypnosis to handle anxhiety in different areas of my life.
I feel that on a purely spirit level fear has no need to exist, also because Love and Fear cannot co-exist. Over these last few years I have invested most of my emotional resources into alligning with my Spirit Self and stay away from fear, and fear-based decision making.
I hope these words can be of help.

Tony! Very good point you have made here. I would like to add that the one and only time I felt some fear was when I was very young and spontaneously experienced Astral Projection for the very first time. As I have stated in other posts, at the time I had never even heard of AP and initially thought I had either had an OBE or an NDE. In any case, it was so intense and happened so fast that as I was about to be shown what is on the other side of the veil, I shot back into my body, for fear that I would not be able to return. Fortunately, I never again had a problem with fear
