Astral Projection How to have an out of body experience

Are you learning how to astral project?

Astral projection can be used for many things, to have fun, to explore the unknown, but also – and most importantly in my opinion – for spiritual growth. Because once you know without a shadow of a doubt that you are so much more than your physical body, your whole outlook on the world changes.

In this video I'm going to talk you through 5 simple steps to have an out-of-body experience:

1. Preparation
2. The mind awake, body asleep state
3. The vibrational state
4. The exit
5. The return

If you have been trying to astral project for a while and you’re struggling, please know that this is s a skill. And it’s a skill that anyone can learn with a bit of patience and a lot of practice.

In this video I share the method I have been using for years to astral project with ease.

I tried this and it worked! Well, I think it did. Sort of. But I saw my mother who has been deceased since 2008. And I remembered that she died, but trying the astral projection thing allowed me to meet her again. And we were at my Dad's old house in Tennessee. I asked how I was able to meet with her, and she said something about it being "friday". Then it got weird. One of my teeth came loose. And there were some kind of genetically engineered mutants that attacked me. But that's all I can remember. Maybe it was just a dream.

I would have no idea how to handle that.
Hello, Derek 🧚‍♀️

Sorry I am late. If it doesn’t work it means you just need to practice.

It is IMPOSSIBLE that you can’t get back to your normal waking state. If you wish to feel less anxious about this, consider it as an “inner” journey. The astral plane is not the physical plane. I consider it as an inner dimension that leads me to the spirit world.

The only case in which I feel that an Out of the Body experience literally takes place is in the case of NDEs, when the experiencer is able to accurately describe what he/she sees in the physical world from the outside of the physical body.

I have not read the full article, but the five steps mentioned are the same as I use.

Congratulations 🎈🎉🎊 Derek.

This is amazing! Your meeting your mother and the fact that you were in an old family house both make sense. I have found that our houses all exist on the Other Side and sometimes they are connected with each other. When I met my father in 2015 we were in the old house belonging to my dad’s grandfather.

I don’t know what Friday means to you. If the experience didn’t happen on a Friday, then maybe it has a symbolic meaning for you or for your mother.

Please don’t worry about the strange events at the end. That was your physical body starting to wake up and making your presence on the astral plane more fragile.

Many dream interpreters believe that a vivid dream of teeth falling out can symbolize a loss and therefore death. This might have been your ego worrying about the fact you were in the wrong place. As to the mutants, I have also had to face these obstacles in the beggining. In my case it was my ego desperately trying to discourage me from having these experiences. I took no notice and fought back. The attacker soon disappeared.

Regarding your suspicion that it might have been “just a dream”, an OBE can display various degrees of lucidity and might turn out to be dream-like. In one‘s earliest full-blown OBEs one tends to feel the classical “vibrations” in one’s head. However I noticed I felt no vibrations when I started visiting otherwordly settings.

Did you feel the vibrations by any chance?

I wrote that within about 60 seconds of me waking up. Now several hours later, I have since forgotten all of it. This is what usually happens to all my dreams. I am now more inclined to think that I just fell asleep while watching the video that Tony posted and the content just bled through in to my dream. This happens a lot since I usually watch videos before going to sleep.

Well, Derek, then let us just wait and see if it happens again.

Watching the video just before falling asleep is one of the tasks that I usually recommend in terms of “preparation”. Other preparation tasks could involve talking about your project or writing about it, reading about other people’s experiences or watching other videos on the subject.

Another trick is setting the alarm to wake you up after say 5 hours’ sleep, get up for thirty minutes, go through the preparation stage again and go back to sleep.

At this point, I don't remember. So maybe/maybe not.

Ok, maybe I'll try it again tomorrow night and set my alarm for about 4:30am. If I remember anything interesting I'll write and post it.

Hello again, Derek. Here is one of my favourite methods for OBE induction. To accomplish this, I usually follow the practical suggestions my friend Vicky gave me around six years ago. Here they are, in Vicky’s words:
[…] About my OBE technique: The one that I’ve been practicing each night (most nights at least) is that I will repeat in my mind “Tonight I will dream with conscious awareness” while I’m lying still and letting my body get ready to sleep. Then when I feel sufficiently relaxed, I will keep thinking that statement in the back of my mind, but I begin using visualization. Doing this technique while the body shifts into the hypnagogic state can produce an OBE, either now or will produce one later in the night.

The visualization that I do is pick a place or a scene or daydream, and I will imagine myself going through the motions of doing something in my mind. I usually start off by imagining as realistically as possible, getting up out of the bed and start walking around my bedroom, and while I’m doing this I will visualize from memory what everything looks like. A good thing to do is imagine walking to the opposite side of the bedroom and then turning around to look back at your bed, and to visualize everything realistically. It’s not that you need to actually “see” it in your mind’s eye, it’s just that you need to be thinking about what goes where, where things are, etc. And while you imagine walking, you think about what the floor feels like. When you imagine opening a closed door, think and remember what the doorknob feels like.

These tactile memories really help make you feel like you’re actually doing what your mind is pretending to be doing. So by doing this while falling asleep, you make it easy for your consciousness to “go” do what you’re thinking about.

So after you get comfortable doing this, and after you begin to feel very relaxed and “floating”, then you can change your visualization and imagination to do something else. You may want to be somewhere else or be with a certain person, or just create a comfortable daydream.

What typically happens is that I fall asleep and lose my conscious awareness. But I just keep at it night after night because I know that it’s all good preparatory work. It’s good practice. It’s good to be in the habit because it gets easier to do.

On 28 December 2018 Vicky wrote to me:

[…]
I’m happy to hear you’re trying my OBE technique of imaging walking around. With repetitive practice you become better and better at shifting your attention and awareness to it and it becomes easier to actually move in the house in your imagination.

For example, you know how it’s easy to close your eyes and picture your kitchen in your mind, for example, right? Then if you concentrate on it, you can imagine bringing your body-perception there in your kitchen. It can take practice but it’s pretty easy to do, and it IS good to practice this type of thing. So then when you’re able to do that easily, practice imagining moving (either walking or floating) FROM that vantage point, without allowing your awareness to “pull you back” to the chair you’re physically sitting in while doing this experiment. Does that make sense? I practice this kind of thing quite regularly.
Chances are, if you imagine for instance meeting your mother again using Vicky’s technique, that on the following morning, you remember a dream or flashes of a dream or even an OBE during which you were spending time with your mother.

I'll try this tonight and write about results in the morning🌄

I just wanted to point out that, when I had a spontaneous out-of-the-body experience at the age of 29, I soon taught myself how to have induced out-of-body experiences. Induced OBEs are much more fascinating as one can plan to visit with loved ones on the Other Side.
